SportsTalk, October 15th. According to the official website of the AFC, the match between Jeddah United and Sepahan is now displayed as “postponed”.
At the beginning of this month, the AFC Champions League group match between Sepahan and Jeddah United at home was canceled due to accidents. Later, some media stated that Jeddah United refused to participate in the game because of the erection of a statue of an Iranian politician at Sepahan’s home stadium and the tense relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
Afterwards, the Iranian Foreign Minister expressed his agreement to rematch Jeddah United vs. Sepahan on another day, and insisted that sports have nothing to do with politics.
Now the AFC official website shows that the status of this game has been changed from “cancelled” to “postponed.”
