SportsTalk reported on October 20, “The Times” reported that Ineos expects to take about 8 weeks to completely complete the acquisition of part of Manchester United’s shares.
The Times says Joel Glazer is expected to remain involved in Manchester United’s football affairs in the future, despite a deal that would see Lattek Leaf is in charge of United’s sporting department, but Glazer, Ratcliffe and Ineos sporting director Brailsford are expected to form a three-man football committee.
Ratcliffe’s £1.3bn deal for a 25% stake in Manchester United was due to be confirmed at a Manchester United board meeting on Thursday approved, but the specifics of the deal are still being finalized. Sources have revealed it could take two to three weeks before Ratcliffe’s takeover is submitted to the Premier League for approval. That process, plus satisfying the New York Stock Exchange’s requirements, could take another eight weeks.
