Lakers star James accepted an interview with the media after training today.
When asked how he became a member of the Lakers, James said: “I don’t know how I became a The Lakers, I don’t know how to answer this question. But when I joined the Lakers, I felt that I didn’t just want to stay here for a short period of time. I came with this idea. First, I wanted to lead the Lakers. Back to the playoffs. Before I came to the Lakers, they hadn’t made the playoffs in five or six seasons. I also wanted to put another O’Brien Trophy in Jeanie Buss’ office. And I did that. A little. Everything else is extra praise.
“As for my personal goals, I just want to keep winning. I want to keep adding to the icing on the cake. I still want to move the O’Brien Cup over here and put another one in here. But as to how I became a Laker, or whatever the case may be, that’s someone else’s business. But for me, I know my job is…this team is always going to be in the spotlight, but I want to be able to bring more attention to what the Lakers do on the court and what basketball means. We’ve achieved that since I’ve been here. ”
During the 2018 offseason, James chose to join the Lakers.
