SportsTalk, October 31st: Messi won the 2023 Golden Globe Award, but Matthäus believed that Harland should win the award more, and angrily criticized this as a farce.
Matthaus said when he was a guest at De Sky: “In the past year, Haaland performed better than Messi, and Messi Doesn’t deserve the award. It shows that the World Cup is more important than anything else. For me there is no way around Haaland, he has been the best player in the last 12 months, winning major trophies with Manchester City and breaking goalscoring records. Even though I am Messi fans, but this selection is a farce.”
