Lille Club posted a photo of Hazard on its official Twitter, with the Ligue 1 title and Coupe de France trophies that Hazard won during his time at Lille below. The accompanying article said: “Hazard’s career is over, but his ability will always remain in our memory. He is a genius. His portrait hangs at the entrance of our training base. He was trained by Lille. The greatest genius of all time. Thank you, Hazard.”

Hazard entered Lille’s youth training at the age of 14 and represented Lille’s first team from 2007 to 2012. He played a total of 194 times for Lille and scored 50 goals. He won the Ligue 1 championship and the 2010-11 Ligue 1 title with the team. French Cup champion.
