SportsTalk December 18th Mourinho participated in former Chelsea player Mikel’s show “The Obi One Podcast”, in which he once again talked about Manchester United-related topics.
Host: “Do you have any regrets about your time at Manchester United?”
Mourinho: “I have no regrets. I gave everything and tried my best. I love this club and I love the fans. This club’s You can only respect and envy history. And I gave everything. And the second place (in the league) is still after Sir Alex Ferguson (the best ranking), and the Europa League championship is still the biggest achievement in the past 10 years.”
“I try my best, it’s not my character to complain about the past, I like to talk about the good aspects of the past. But, that club, some players and Some of the people who are not players are still there, and I said two months after I got there that you would never get anything done with these people, and they are still here.”
“Arnold is a great guy and I would have liked him to have been CEO when I was in charge but he wasn’t and he’s probably gone now. He was the business manager when I was in charge The director is not the CEO. I would have been happy that he was the CEO when I was there, but the club is not easy.”
“So I have no regrets , I gave everything and I think the Manchester United fans know that too. They know how much I love the club. One time I went there (Old Trafford) as a commentator for SKY and the whole stadium applauded and sang for me. If I had such treatment at Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Porto, you would say it was because of everything I won there. But when I went to Manchester United, which has such a (glorious) history, I only won the Europa League and the Community Shield. Cup and second place in the league, but the fans still treat me like that, it shows that they know that I tried my best and gave everything, so I have no regrets.”
